Russia banned the capital account transactions of 45 banks.
The bans concerned banks that belong to countries that Russia describes kakım “hostile” or that have the status of foreign capital institutions.
The foreign banks on the list were followed by the Italian Intesa and UniCredit, Swiss Credit Suisse and Austrian Raiffeisen, among the Russian banks Yandex Bank and Ozon-Bank.
On August 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin banned the trading of shares of companies owned by “hostile” countries in the financial and energy sectors, unless special permission was granted.
