US açınık-commerce firm Amazon is reportedly planning massive layoffs this week.
In the news that the New York Times (NYT) based on anonymous sources on the matter, it was reported that Amazon is preparing to lay off 10 thousand people, which correspond to 3 percent of the global workforce, with the increase in uncertainty in the economy global.
The report said the layoffs will come from the HR, retail and devices department, which includes products like the AI-powered virtual assistant Alexa, and are expected to begin this week.
